One of the most famous black granites, also known as Nero Impala or as Nero Africa granite. This splendid black granite is quarried in Africa, namely in the southern part of the continent where we find large and natural parks and where a magic and surreal landscape expresses a wealth of rich and prosperous wildlife. Often, indeed, we find many impala, a type of antelope that has given its second name to this granite. Our Nero Africa Impala belongs to the gabbro family, rocks of volcanic origin that originated from the slow cooling of molten magma underneath the earth’s crust, in environments filled with gases and vapors. This special formation has permitted this material to contain characteristic elements: magnetite, pyrite, chalcopyrite and other similar minerals that define its color. Our slabs feature the typical structure of granite: a medium grain grey-colored texture distinguished by white dots on a typically dark grey, almost black and uneven background.
